Everyone Active Raiders NIHL 2 have added a sixth name this week with the signings of defenceman Daniel Hitchings ahead of the 2018/19 season.

16-year-old defenceman Hitchings joins the Raiders organisation following a junior career at Romford, Guildford and Chelmsford, in which he has consistently been selected at Regional and International levels.

In his three season stint at Chelmsford juniors, he wore the assistant captain badge, playing in a total of 80 games where he found the net 24 times and added 54 assists for a total of 78 points.

Coach Sean Easton said: “Dan has also represented Great Britain under-16s for the past two seasons.

“A physically big Defender plays hard in the tough areas, and also has offensive mind to be able to add offence from defensive rushes.

“Dan has a strong shot from the point and adds points from defence.

“Dan will benefit icing for our NIHL 2 team and gaining the senior experience he much needs to develop his game.”

Before adding: “We have a strong core of players coming through the raiders ranks and the future definitely looks bright for the gold and blue.

“We have a strong ethos on development and giving chances and experiences to the younger generation to build the Raiders to be strong outfit for years to come.”
