Romford Raiders have announced that netminder Michael Gray has returned to the team.
“Michael spoke to Danny after the Raiders game at Chelmsford and admitted he was missing it,” said Mick Cahill.
“Within a couple of days, he’d contacted Marsh again to confirm that he was actively considering a return and within another couple of days, he told Danny he definitely wanted to come back.
“The fact is that, had Michael been available at the start of the season, we would definitely have wanted him on the team again.
“He wasn’t, so we looked elsewhere and were delighted with the netminders we picked up in Shane Kemp and Charlie Kaylor, with Glen Jackson as cover.
“Now that Michael is back on board, it has left us with an embarrassment of riches and, long term, it would be impossible to run with four netminders.
“I know it’s been a very difficult decision but Danny has decided to release Charlie. It’s a real shame for Chaz because he’s done nothing wrong.
“Even at this level, the head coach has really tough choices to make but we’re sorry to lose Charlie and sincerely wish him well.
“I must also express my thanks to the Chelmsford Warriors organisation and the EIHA who have processed Michael’s transfer back to Romford in record time. I’m grateful for their help.”
