Archant

Everyone Active Raiders had to settle for a point after a penalty shoot-out defeat in south London on Sunday.

Having needed a last-minute goal to beat National League basement boys Invicta at the Sapphire Ice & Leisure Centre on Saturday, Raiders fell behind with barely three minutes played as Michael Farn beat Ben Clements.

Ashley Jackson got the visitors back on terms less than a minute later and Juraj Huska put them 2-1 up in the 11th minute.

But the hosts hit back just 13 seconds later through Adam Carr and then went 3-2 up as Thomas Soar struck.

A holding penalty against Ryan Webb gave Raiders the chance to tie it up on the power play, as Huska claimed his second goal of the night.

And Raiders got their noses in front in the middle session with a shorthanded goal from Jackson, after Huska was binned for hooking.

Jackson completed his hat-trick with a delayed penalty goal just before the midway mark and Raiders went 6-3 up in the 48th minute when Blaho Novak netted on another power play, with Scott Bailey serving a hooking penalty.

Raiders had let a four-goal lead slip on their last visit, though, and Streatham set nerves jangling again when Adam Wood netted their fourth goal of the night in the 51st minute.

A slashing penalty against Julian Smith allowed Andreas Siagris to cut the gap to one on a power play, with five minutes remaining, and Leigh Jamieson levelled it at 6-6 seconds later.

Neither side could find a winner in the final four minutes or in overtime and so it went to penalty shots, with Jamieson claiming the winner.

Scorers, Streatham: Leigh Jamieson 1+3, Andreas Siagris* 1+3, Michael Farn 1+3, Adam Carr 1+1, Adam Wood 1, Thomas Soar 1, Thomas Beesley 0+1, Ryan Webb 0+1.

Shots on goal: Damien King (S, 65.00) 13-9-8-14=44-6; Ben Clements (R, 65.00) 9-9-19-8=45-7.

Penalty minutes: Streatham 18, Raiders 14.
