Everyone Active Raiders forward Blahoslav Novak feels they played two solid games and were rewarded with four points last weekend.
The Raiders secured a 9-4 win over Milton Keynes Thunder on Saturday evening – despite being 2-0 down at the end of the first period.
Sean Easton’s then cruised to a comfortable 8-0 win over basement club Invicta Dynamos the following night.
“We were very happy to pick up a four point weekend,” the 25-year-old said.
“Especially as the weekend before we played two really good games and only got one point out of it, so good games and two results was good for us.”
The Slovakian native did however feel they started slowly against Thunder but managed to turn it around.
“In the MK game we started very shaky and just had no ideas on the ice,” Novak admitted.
“Gradually we played better and became more creative as the game went on and we got what we wanted in the end which was the win.”
Juraj Huska, Ashley Jackson and Jake Sylvester all picked up braces in the match with Dan Scott, Sean Barry and Aaron Connolly all also getting on the score sheet.
While, Novak bagged himself three assists in the match.
The following night the former Telford Tigers man nabbed two goals of his own as Huska netted a hat-trick, Sylvester got another, and Matt Turner and Brandon Ayliffe also grabbed one each in Gillingham.
“At Invicta it was a solid performance from the whole team, some solid saves from Michael Gray in goal; we played well in the defensive zone and made plenty of good offensive plays.”
