Coach pays tribute after defeating Dynamos

Romford Raiders player-coach Danny Marshall felt his side were worthy winners against Invicta at the weekend.

A third-period hat-trick from Frankie Harvey helped lift Raiders to a 9-6 victory over their ENL title rivals, keeping their hopes of silverware alive.

And Marshall paid tribute to his men, saying: “I think everyone had a great game, I’m really proud of the boys.

“We got the result we were due. I think we were the better team out there and it was a good day.”

Raiders found themselves 4-2 down early in the second period, but hit three unanswered goals to take the lead, before Invicta levelled to set up a tense closing session.

Marshall added: “I said to the boys, if we want to contend, this is when it counts. We’re in our barn, lets go and get the points.

“We needed them if we want to win the league. We’ve still got to play them twice in their rink, which won’t be easy, but we can go there confident.”
