Marshall pleased to have Phillips
Romford Raiders player-coach Danny Marshall is confident Billy Phillips can help his side push for ENL honours.
Phillips returned to a Romford jersey in the challenge match against Finnish side Hernesaaren NaaDat Miehet last weekend.
But the young defenceman and his teammates were frustrated when Sunday’s league clash at MK Thunder was postponed due to problems with the Zamboni resurfacing machine.
Raiders are due to host title rivals Invicta on Saturday and Marshall said: “It’s good to have Billy back. He had a couple of years in that league [EPL] with Slough and did well, but it’s not a walkover in this league.
“He’s got a different role to the one he had at Slough and he’s definitely got the ability. He’s got to approach it right and be consistent, but I’m confident he can do a job for us.”
Marshall hopes Tyrone Miller will be over a chest infection to also take his place on the blue line this weekend.
He added: “There’s a few things going around and a couple of the boys are not too well, but hopefully all will be ok this weekend.”
