Davis back to face Dynamos
London Raiders captain Tom Davis is set to return to the line-up this weekend after missing their recent win at the Isle of Wight.
Davis was unavailable for the trip to Ryde, after jetting off across the Atlantic for a short break, but a shortbenched Raiders skated to a superb 6-3 win over their namesakes in his absence.
Alan Lack and Jacob Ranson netted twice on the night, with Stephen Deacon and Vaclav Drabek also on target, and the victory delighted skipper Davis ahead of their visit to Invicta this Sunday.
He said: “After a trip to New York and a weekend off I can’t wait to get back to playing.
“Although after the great result on the island I may struggle to get my spot back!
“We take on the Dynamos this weekend in their own barn, which is never an easy place to go and take points. But given our current form I don’t see why we can’t.”
Raiders had last weekend off, while Invicta beat the Isle of Wight in a two-legged National League cup semi-final to set up a meeting with Chelmsford for the silverware.
But Davis sees no reason why his side cannot upset them on their own ice, adding: ”We know they have some great players, with speed and skill, but thy have also lost a couple of key guys.
“We will have a big training session this week and I’m sure we will be there on Sunday night going all out to take the two points.”
