Leone ready for title test

Romford Raiders captain Anthony Leone is calling on his side to show their title credentials at the Isle of Wight on Saturday.

Danny Marshall’s men travel to the small rink in Ryde unbeaten in their last 14 games.

But Wight have not tasted defeat for 20 matches and top the ENL Division One table heading into the business end of the season.

Leone said: “This is the one. It’s make or break and this is when the best teams have to do it.

“It’s the hardest part of the season now. The Isle of Wight are on fire at the moment.

“Those fans who didn’t want us to drop down because they thought the games wouldn’t be that good, well Invicta against Isle of Wight was a sell-out the other week.

“I heard it was three deep around the edge of the rink and I can’t wait.”

The two sides are due to meet again at Rom Valley Way on March 6, but before that Raiders will host lowly Bristol on Sunday (5.15pm).
