The National League Division Two team being run by the newly formed Romford Junior Raiders programme have announced Kamil Kinkor as their first-ever import signing.

The six foot five inch tall power forward certainly knows where the net is, having won a spot on the NIHL 2 All-Star team last season.

The 27-year-old, who weighs in at 220lbs, had a brief spell with the London Raiders at Lee Valley and will be pulling on the gold and blue jersey again in the 2018/19 season, helping to develop the next generation of Raiders in what is going to be a very young team, with some familiar faces to the fans.

Romford Junior Raiders head coach Ben Pitchley said: “This is a huge signing for us, as Kamil is still only 27 years old, so fits our development ethos for this team perfectly.

“He knows where the net is, and is someone we feel, as a junior club, will assist with the development pathway we have in place with our prospect players to get them ready for NIHL1 hockey, and beyond.

“We have a great coaching structure throughout the club with myself, Sean Easton and Alan Blyth working with this team, for the betterment of the players involved and the junior club as a whole.”

Kinkor was equally happy to be playing hockey a little closer to home this coming season, adding: “I’m really excited to be back in gold and blue and help with the development of the young juniors.

“After speaking further with Ben, Alan and Sean their drive is to make these juniors into the future of the Raiders.

“They will be looked after and will get the chance to have training sessions that will push them to be better and more motivated.

“One other reason why I’m coming to Romford is that I had to make decisions between teams and travel as I’m awaiting a little boy in four weeks and Romford is 25 minutes from my house!

“It’s going to be an exciting season, some really impressive young talent will be on display.”

More announcements regarding this team will be made on Monday and anyone wishing to sponsor Kamil Kinkor’s home and away shirt can contact Ben Pitchley on
