No Raiders return for Doyle

Utility man joins Bracknell

Romford Raiders have bid farewell to Liam Doyle, who will be joining National Ice Hockey League rivals Bracknell for the 2012/13 season.

Doyle joined from Haringey, when the Rom Valley Way club were still in the English Premier League, and played throughout their first campaign in the National League.

His appearances were limited last term, as Danny Marshall’s men won a league and trophy double and team manager Mick Cahill said: “Liam has moved to Bracknell Hornets with our blessing.

“Doyley joined us from Haringey when we were in the Premier League and did a fine job for us throughout his time here.

“He is essentially a defencemman, but also played on the wing for us when we were short of forward bodies at the end of the 2010/11 season.

“We had the blue line well covered last season so Liam’s ice time became more limited as result and, with his external commitments increasing, it made sense when he and Danny agreed that work should come first.
