Defenceman agrees 2011/12 return
Romford Raiders will have Tyrone Miller patrolling their blue line once again next season.
Miller has agreed terms with player-coach Danny Marshall, who is backing his man to bounce back from a frustrating 2010/11 campaign.
He said: “Tyrone had an operation last year which set him back about six-eight weeks. Then when he came back he picked up an (ankle) injury.
“But we’ve had a good chat and he wants to come back and have a good year.
“He’s been training this summer and will be fully fit. We all know what he can do and I hope he can do it and be consistent this year.
“I’d rather have him on my team than playing against me.”
Those sentiments were echoed by team manager Mick Cahill, who added: “This is season number 11 in a Raiders’ jersey for Ty and although he’s had his moments with previous Romford organisations, we’d much rather have him with us than be facing him in an opposition team.
“Tyrone and I have always got on well, in part because we’ve always been absolutely honest with each other and I’d be the first to admit he can be hard work sometimes.
“However, when he’s fit and on his game there are few better British D-men at this level.
“He has genuine speed, is incredibly strong on the puck and if he can stay injury–free he will be an enormous asset.”
