Player-coach ready to release signing news
London Raiders player coach Danny Marshall moved this week to reassure fans all is well ahead of the new season.
Supporters have been showing concern about a lack of updates from the Lee Valley-based club, while rivals have announced a string of off-season signings.
But with the 2014/15 campaign still eight weeks away, Marshall said: “I’ve been talking to players and expect to start announcing names soon.
“Hopefully we’ll see a lot of familiar faces back but also some new faces.
“We’re holding trials to see if there is any good, young, hungry talent out there so watch this space!”
Raiders finished fourth in the national league last term, despite playing half the season with a threadbare squad due to financial constraints.
Hopes of play-off success were ended when their clash at Streatham was abandoned after two periods, with Raiders unable to complete the 60 minutes due to a lack of players following a brawl.
Marshall received a one-match ban himself following an EIHA investigation, with Michael Gray, Frankie Harvey and former players Billy Phillips, Charlie Phillips and Frankie Sabine also suspended.
