London Raiders captain Tom Davis wants his side to make the most of important weekend against two of their league rivals.

The Lee Valley-based outfit host Streatham IHC on Saturday (5.30pm face-off) and head down the A2 to play the Invicta Dynamos on Sunday (5.15pm face-off) in the NIHL Cup.

“This weekend we face the same two teams as last weekend in the cup and they’re very important games for us,” Davis said.

“With a four point weekend it would put us in a very good place to progress from the group and into the next stage of the cup, so we need to be on top form for 120 minutes.”

The forward says his side know what to expect ahead of the weekend clashes and believes they just need to stick to their game plans.

“We know Invicta can be a strong side to play against,” the 27-year-old said.

“We know how strong Damien King can be in net and we know they have some great goal scorers such as Callum Fowler and Adam Rehak, but if we stick to how we need to play we should be able to take the two points from them.”

The gold and blue outfit also face Streatham IHC for a third time this campaign, having lost the previous two, but Davis is confident they can get one back on the south London club.

“Sunday is another big game against a team for the third time in three weeks in which we know we can compete with, but we have only managed a point out of four so we definitely want revenge and grab the two points.”

The skipper also revealed the team spirit is high and they just need to make sure they play hard every minute of the game from now on.

“The team are settling in nicely and there is a really good vibe in the room between the boys we just need to be showing up for 60 minutes every game now and show we can take points from any team.”
