The latest news from the Ford judo club

Ford Judo Club were represented by 16 members at the weekend in the Classmaster Judo event in Tonbridge Wells.

For a number of these players, this was their first experience in a competition, but each overcame nerves, rose to the challenge and put in a tremendous effort.

There were gold medals for Izaak Jenkins, Taylor Jenkins, Billy Batstone, Anaikh Sandhu, Nihaal Sandhu, Kessie Davies-Kumi and Maddie Powell.

Georgia Ailey earned a silver medal, while bronze medallists were Mantas Balsys, Toby Worrell, Harrison Bowers, Luke Phillips, Freddie Davison, Abi Higgs, Nancy Worrell and Hannah Farrell.

“This is an excellent event to take the youngsters, to see how they fare in the competition arena against children from other clubs,” said head coach Mike Allen.

“From this, myself and the other Ford coaches can reflect, build on and work on what we have seen from each one of them.

“However, the main thing at this early age, is that each one of them enjoyed the experience”.
