Everyone Active Raiders have announced the signing of forward Tommy Huggett on a two-way deal ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The 16-year-old, who has iced for Great Britain under-16s and impressed throughout his junior career, will be making the step-up to senior hockey this campaign.

Huggett will be icing for the NIHL 2 outfit and training with the NIHL 1 side in hope of breaking into the top team as he progresses.

The forward was captain of the Chelmsford Mohawks under-18s side last term, making 17 appearances, picking up 31 goals and 14 assists for a total of 45 points.

He also spent time at Romford and Guildford juniors, before the closure of Rom Valley Way moved him down the A12 to Chelmsford, where he has spent the last three campaigns.

Coach Sean Easton said: “Tom turning 16 in June now qualifies him to play senior hockey, he is one of the many players that have been stuck in the age rule and held back being able to develop his game further.

“Tommy represented Great Britain at under-16s for the past two years.

“Tom has a high skill set and a very variable play to his game, he can be a goal scorer, a grinder or a play maker.

“A good hard working centre that plays hard in both ends of the ice.

“Tommy loves the physical side of the game giving and skating through hits.

“He is definitely one to keep an eye on for the future.”
