Busy times for Havering

East Premier A

Chelmsford v Havering; St Albans v Havering (Sunday)

Paul Johnson’s relegation-threatened Havering face another double-header this weekend.

And they will be hoping for some kind of return, after losing to Dereham and Cambridge City last weekend.

They lost 5-2 when Chelmsford visited Campion in mid-October, while their original trip to St Albans was postponed in early December.

Havering have taken just eight points from 13 games so far and with only nine games left, they need to put together some sort of run if they are to avoid the drop.

Division 1

Upminster v Peterborough III (1pm)

Victory over Cambs Nomads, and the award of a further three points following an overturn of their 9-0 defeat againts Cambridge City 2nds, gave Upminster a significant boost last weekend.

But they go up against table-topping Peterborough side at Coopers, who won 4-1 when the two met in mid-October.

A trip to bottom club Ipswich beckons in a week’s time, which might prove a more likely source of points, but Upminster have only lost once on their own patch so far this term.

Division 4SE

Waltham Forest II v Romford (11.30am)

Romford missed a chance to pull themselves up the table last weekend.

Held to a 1-1 draw by basement boys Wapping 5ths, they will hope to get something from their trip to the Walthamstow Academy.

Romford lie seven points behind Forest in a congested mid-table, but only six points above the bottom three and will be looking to put a bit more space between themselves and the relegation places.
