Havering under-12s came out on top in their first Essex Mini League tournament of the season at Campion on Sunday.

Facinng Bishops Stortford, Witham and Waltham Forest, the girls conceded only one goal despite not having a goalkeeper available.

They battled to a pair of 0-0 draws and a 2-1 win to finish with five points from nine.

Danielle Drake held strong in the middle, while Bonita Hayer and Munsa Mangat shone at the back.

Megan Banks and Gabbi Bean netted Havering’s goals, as Grace Hall also impressed in attack.

The boys included new keeper Matthew Cox and strong defensive work by Andy Meehan helped secure an opening 2-0 win, as Liam Purton and Rhys Goulden netted.

Connor Bettles and Jeevan Hayer impressed in the second match, before Havering finished with a stunning 6-0 win, as Purton netted all six goals.

n Havering are always seeking new players, aged six and above, to compete in the Essex Mini league at various ages.
