Emerson Park celebrate winning the Havering Cup final

Penalty heartache for Redden Court

Emerson Park kept their nerve to win a penalty shootout and lift the Havering Schools Year 7 Cup at Hornchurch Stadium.

Park were frustrated time and again by Redden Court goalkeeper Charlie Haddon as their clash ended in a goalless draw.

But Park’s Louis Chapman was beaten just once from the spot, as his side won the shoot-out, 3-1.

Ian Torrance, head of PE at Emerson Park, said: “We dominated for large spells and had a lot of chances, but the Redden Court keeper made some good saves to keep us at bay.

“The second half was tighter and quite exciting in the last 10-15 minutes.

“Both sides played extremely well and we were delighted to win after our Year 9 team finished runners-up to St Edwards.”
