Feel-good factor continues

Romford and Hornchurch both kept the feel-good factor going with impressive away wins last night.

Boro took an early lead against Ryman One North rivals Grays at Mill Field, when Andy Edmunds saw his right-wing centre rocket into the far corner of the net in the eighth minute.

But Paul Martin’s men had to wait until the 85th minute to make sure of the points, when Abs Seymour was brought down by keeper Stuart Robinson and Paul Kavanagh blasted home from the spot.

Victory lifted in-form Boro up to third, with a game in hand on second-placed Heybridge.

Hornchurch kept their momentum going in the Premier Division with a 1-0 win at Hastings.

Recent signing Dave Collis again impressed for Urchins, as Lewis Smith claimed the all-important goal just past the hour mark.

Jimmy McFarlane’s men climbed to eighth as a result and both sides will now turn their attentions to FA Trophy assignments at the weekend, as Romford visit AFC Totton and Hornchurch travel to Margate.
