Late blitz hits Hornchurch

Romford made it back-to-back wins in Ryman One North with a 3-1 success over Redbridge last night.

But a late goal blitz sent Hornchurch to a 3-0 defeat at Premier Division leaders Sutton.

Paul Kavanagh fired Boro - 3-0 winners over Ware on Saturday - in front from the penalty spot after Joe Pearman was fouled.

Redbridge levelled in the 27th minute but Boro regained the lead six minutes later when Richard Oxby’s cross found Pearman to fire home.

And Paul Martin’s men sealed the points four minutes from time when Kurt Smith lobbed Elliot Justham.

Hornchurch, meanwhile, held firm at Sutton until the 75th minute when Craig Dundas broke the deadlock.

Dundas doubled the home side’s lead soon after and former Grays striker Leroy Griffiths added a late third as Urchins slipped back down to 10th.
