Boro without a goal in three games
Romford visit Cheshunt in Ryman One North tomorrow (Saturday), having failed to score in their last three matches.
Boro slumped to a 5-0 home loss against Heybridge at the weekend, following a 3-0 defeat against Maldon and goalless draw at Waltham Forest.
But Wednesday’s Essex Senior Cup tie with Barking was postponed and the two sides will try again at Ship Lane next week.
Manager Paul Martin said: “They (Cheshunt) are a bit hit and miss but you can’t take anyone for granted in this league.
“Our away record is better than our home at the moment so that bodes well. They’ve been hit for six and we’ve conceded five in our last games so both of us will be looking for the win.
“But more importantly we need to be scoring some goals. Not scoring has just been one of those things, we pushed for it in the Maldon game and ended up losing 3-0. We have given Heybridge and Maldon too much respect and they have shown that bit of experience, while our back four has an average age of 20.
“Nick (Reynolds) will be back in contention so that’ll give us another option up top, but Paul (Clayton) will miss this one out after picking up five bookings, and it will probably be too soon for both Tom (Richardson) and Joe (Oates).”
