Pitch inspection at Tilbury

Romford will be hoping Tilbury’s pitch passes an inspection at 10.30am to allow their Ryman One North clash to go ahead tonight.

Boro notched up a second successive away win at Cheshunt on Saturday, with goals from Paul Kavanagh, Toran Senghore and Perry Burns sealing a 3-2 triumph.

And, with fixtures already mounting up for Paul Martin’s men after December’s arctic blast, they will be keen to chalk another one off the list this evening.

Martin said: “We need to get games in and I’m sure all clubs will trying hard to get games on.

“Kurt Smith is probably the only one who wants games to be called off at the moment as he’s out for a couple more weeks!”

Tilbury fell to a 4-3 injury-time defeat against Heybridge at the weekend, after their Chadfields pitch was deemed fit for play.

And, after heavy overnight rain last night, the forecast for the rest of the day in Tilbury is sunny intervals with temperatures around the 4-5 degrees celcius mark.

Tilbury won 2-1 when the two sides met in the Ryman League Cup at Mill Field earlier this season.

But Boro were reinstated into the competition after Dockers were found to have fielded an ineligible player and are due to visit Dulwich in the fourth round next Tuesday . . . weather permitting!
