Boss Paul Martin reveals 16-man group at Boro’s club AGM

Romford have revealed that top goalscorer Nick Reynolds will be returning to the club for the 2015/16 campaign alongside a host of other names.

The club released a statement this week with a list of players from last season’s team who were returning alongside some new additions to Paul Martin’s squad.

It was confirmed last month that Matt Frew and Greg Akpele had agreed deals with Boro.

They will be joined at Ship Lane by Reynolds, goalkeepers Aaron Omand and Atu Ngoy, as well as youngsters Nathan Cooper, George Woodward, Jamie Dicks, Robbie Norris and Joe Scott. Ryan Imbert is also returning alongside George Tubey, whilst four more new players will join Boro.

Former Barkingside trio Dan Cossington, Joe Bricknell and Jake Giddings will be representing Romford this season.

Young Ralph Katikaza is another that will be playing for Boro this year, he has previous experience with Chelmsford City.

That news was revealed to supporters on Tuesday at the club’s AGM at Mawney School. And Romford chairman Steve Gardener was in positive mood about the meeting and revealed what the clubs plans are.

He said: “The AGM went really well. We had a good turn out of about 40 members. We discussed different ways we can raise money to try and keep the club afloat again. We are looking at a few fundraising ideas.

“We want to raise around £23,000, which is £3,000 more than normal, but that will go towards the running of the club and also next year we are planning to set up an under-21 and under-16 team.

“Everyone was positive and we announced to the supporters which players are staying and who has gone. We discussed the cup draws and everyone is excited.”

As mentioned, the draws for the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Trophy took place recently.

Romford will play away to either Hoddesdon Town or Sawbridgeworth Town on August 29 in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

In the preliminary round of the FA Trophy, Boro will welcome North Greenford United to Ship Lane on October 3.
