The draw for the FA Cup and FA Trophy was made earlier today

Ryman North rivals Romford and Hornchurch found out today who they will be facing in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.

The ties take place on August 29 with the winners receiving £1,925 in prize money.

Jimmy McFarlane’s team will have an away trip to either Essex Senior League side Waltham Forest or Spartan South Midlands side St Margarestsbury, who will play each other on August 15.

Paul Martin and his Boro outfit are also preparing for some travelling as they will face Spartan South Midlands team Hoddesdon Town or Essex Senior League opponents in Sawbridgeworth Town.

The FA Trophy draw was made today with Urchins receiving a bye through to the first qualifying round of the competition, but Romford enter in the preliminary round stage.

Boro will welcome Evo-Stik League Southern side North Greenford United to Ship Lane on October 3 with the winners receiving £2,500.

If Romford progress through that tie they will come up against another Evo-Stik team in the next round of the competition at Ship Lane in Slough.

That fixture will go ahead on October 31 with the winner receiving £2,700, whilst Hornchurch will entertain Ryman Premier rivals from last season, Metropolitan Police, in the first round of the tournament at Bridge Avenue.
