Rivals take bids on road

Ryman Premier Division

Horsham v Hornchurch (3pm)

Urchins fell further off the play-off pace after being held to a 2-2 draw at Margate last weekend.

Kieron St Aimie netted for the third time in four games and Martin Tuohy was also on target in Kent for Jimmy McFarlane’s men.

But they were left three points off the top five, with only six games remaining and have won only one of their last five matches, taking just five points from a possible 15.

Horsham are not out of trouble at the other end of the table just yet and won 2-0 when the sides met at Bridge Avenue in January.

Urchins will be out for revenge in Sussex, but will be without the departed St Aimie and another loss will leave them with a mountain to climb.

Ryman Division 1N

Needham Market v Romford (3pm)

Romford saw their four-game unbeaten run come to an end at Harlow last weekend.

Alex Read and Andy Edmunds limped off inside 15 minutes as Boro crashed to a 4-1 defeat and both are doubts for the trip to Suffolk.

Boro, who have matched last season’s 52-point haul, were beaten 3-1 when the two sides met at Mill Field in January, but manager Paul Martin, who was hoping to shake off a bout of flu in midweek, is confident of his side springing a surprise in the return as they look to keep their play-off hopes alive.
