East Thurrock v Romford; Hornchurch v Aveley

Romford and Hornchurch will both be looking to bounce back from defeats in the Ryman League tonight.

Urchins suffered a 2-0 Premier Division defeat at Billericay and play host to Aveley at Bridge Avenue.

Boro, meanwhile, went down 3-0 against Division One North rivals Grays at the weekend and return to Rookery Hill to take on title-chasing East Thurrock this evening.
And boss Paul Martin believes his side can take points from their game.

He said: “If we turn up tonight, I expect us to get points. It depends if we turn up.

“The better team won on Saturday, I’ve no complaints, but hopefully we can change that.

“it was a heavy pitch but it’s the same for both teams. Two or three weeks ago it might’ve been called off, but Grays are on a good run at the moment.”

East Thurrock were held to a 1-1 draw at Harlow, but won their previous meeting with Romford, 2-0 at Mill Field in mid-December.

Joe Pearman is set to return to the squad after missing Saturday’s game with a slight back problem.
