Goalkeeper honoured at weekend while Paul Martin is given the Gerald Gardener Award

Michael Gooch was a happy boy on Saturday evening as he walked away with two awards at Romford’s presentation night.

The goalkeeper enjoyed a fantastic first season with Boro and won the Supporters’ Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the weekend.

Paul Martin’s Managers Player of the Year was given to George Woodward, after he bounced back well this year.

He struggled with injuries during the 2014/15 campaign, but played over 30 times this season and assisted 12 goals as well as finding the net on four occasions.

The Young Player of the Year award went to Ryan Boswell while the President’s Cup was given to Jamie Dicks.

Nick Reynolds received the top goalscorer honour after finishing the year with nine goals in all competitions.

Boss Martin was also recognised for all the hard work he has put in during his time with Romford.

He was given the Gerald Gardener Award for outstanding service to the club and various old Boro faces were also present on the night.

Romford have arranged their first pre-season match of the summer and will host Southend Manor on July 12.

The Essex Senior League club will make the trip to Fords Newbury Park for a 7.45pm kick-off.
