Hornchurch boss eager for next challenge

Jimmy McFarlane says the next game cannot come quick enough for Hornchurch.

Urchins extended their winning run to six games with a deserved 2-0 victory over Ryman Premier Division rivals Concord on Saturday, where Frankie Curley and Lewis Smith netted.

Confidence among his charges is at an all-time high and with the current mood in camp as it is, McFarlane cannot wait for tomorrow’s clash at Folkestone to come.

“When you are not doing very well you dread the next game,” said McFarlane.

“But when you are doing well you the next one cannot come quick enough.”

The defence has been the basis of the Urchins recent upturn in form and McFarlane feels the 7-1 loss at Tonbridge galvanised his troops and led them on this run.

“Defensively for the last month we have been absolutely sound and apart from that freak result at Tonbridge,” he added.
