Urchins hold leaders to draw

Hornchurch manager Jimmy McFarlane claimed his side were good value for their point in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Ryman Premier Division leaders Sutton.

Kieron St Aimie’s injury-time penalty saved Urchins, after Leroy Griffiths had given the visitors an 85th-minute lead.

Hornchurch travel to Wembley to take on Hendon tonight and McFarlane said: “I would’ve taken a point beforehand, but in the end I was a bit disappointed not to get all three.

“Sutton shaded it on possession, but we had more good chances than them.

“Darren [Behcet] didn’t really have a proper save to make and it would’ve been harsh if we’d lost.

“This is what we can achieve but it’s the reason we’re just outside the play-offs. We matched them in all areas, but we’re not as consistent as them.”
