Boro boss on guard for Ware trip

Romford manager Paul Martin says his side will not take Ware lightly tomorrow.

Boro travel to Wodson Park looking to maintain their fine form in Ryman One North, having held second-placed Heybridge to a draw in midweek.

Last season’s encounter ended in controversial defeat for Martin’s men, but he said: “I think there’s only about six players who played who will remember it.

“The fans won’t forget, but Ware have had some good results this season. They beat Grays 3-0 and are not to be underestimated.

“If we can get four points from our next two games, I will be a happy man.”

Boro welcome Grays to Mill Field on Tuesday and Martin added: “Neither side will want to give anything away. I think it will be feisty.

“We’ve got to keep defending in the right manner and make sure we punish teams when we get the chance. We’re not scoring a lot of goals at the moment, but we’re not conceding many.

“We’re looking strong in certain areas and we’re competing. We’ll wait until after Christmas, then see if we’ve got a chance of really pushing for the play-offs.”
