McFarlane excited by tough fortnight

Hornchurch start a ‘massive’ fortnight at fellow Ryman Premier Division promotion hopefuls Kingstonian tomorrow (Saturday).

Urchins took maximum points from wins over Thamesmead and Lewes this week and are due to host Cray at Bridge Avenue on Tuesday.

They then take on high-flying Maidstone and Dulwich in their next two fixtures and boss Jimmy McFarlane wants them to maintain their impressive form.

He said: “It’s a massive fortnight, but you’d rather that than be stuck in mid-table playing for nothing.

“It’s no secret that the better the pitch, the better we play and Kingstonian is probably the best in the league.

“But whether it’s Kingstonian or Cray, our attitude has got to be the same. We’ve got to do what we’ve been doing the last couple of games.”
