McFarlane continues to build 2014/15 squad

Hornchurch have announced the signing of three new players for the 2014/15 Ryman Premier Division season, along with the return of Phil Starkey.

Urchins just missed out on promotion back to the Conference South last term, losing the play-off final at Lowestoft, and saw striker Stefan Payne join Dover last week.

But manager Jimmy McFarlane has moved to strengthen his squad by snapping up Tom Davis, Toby Joseph and Junior Luke, to join returning heroes Starkey, captain Elliot Styles and strikers Martin Tuohy and George Purcell.

Davis is a combative midfielder, who made over 30 appearances for Chelmsford last season, while Joseph can play wide or in attack and joins the Bridge Avenue ranks after playing professionally in Sweden.

Luke, meanwhile, has been a regular for Hornchurch’s Essex rivals Billericay over the course of the past four seasons.

Urchins begin their pre-season campaign with a trip to Thamesmead on July 12.
