Urchins travel to National League outfit in FA Cup draw

Hornchurch have been drawn away to National League side Boreham Wood in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round.

The Urchins will travel the short distance around the M25 to Meadow Park where they are likely to come up against Danny Woodards, who played at Bridge Avenue last season, and former Dagenham & Redbridge players Scott Doe and Luke Howell.

It is the reward for Jimmy McFarlane’s men after they beat Worthing United away in the previous round.

Tobi Joseph opened the score at Worthing in the 11th minute before the hosts levelled it up from the spot 16 minures later.

Joseph fired in his second 19 minutes from time and Hornchurch were able to pull away with late goals from prolific strike duo George Purcell and David Knight.

The last time the Urchins reached this round was two seasons ago when they were knocked out by a late goal at home to Hereford United.
