Romford fell to their seventh consecutive league defeat and dropped to the foot of the Bostik North table with a 3-1 defeat to Waltham Abbey.

A Shad Ngandu hat-trick ended Abbey’s six game winless streak against 10-man Boro after Kai Heather was sent off at Capershotts.

The hosts got off to a flying start as Ngandu netted in the 23rd and 25th minute to give them a 2-0 lead but Romford defender Andrew Tiranhu clawed one back ten minutes later.

The visitors were desperately looking for an equaliser until Heather was sent off in the 75th minute and Ngandu rounded off his hat-trick in the 90th minute.

Relegation rivals Cheshunt beat Bowers & Pitsea 2-1 and jumped ahead of Paul Martin’s men.
