Change made to avoid clash

Romford have brought their first home fixture of the new Ryman Division One North season forward by 24 hours.

Boro were due to entertain Waltham Forest at Ship Lane next Wednesday (August 14), but have decided to play it a day earlier to avoid a clash with England’s televised meeting against Scotland.

Paul Martin’s men begin the new league season with a trip to Needham Market on Saturday, having completed their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 defeat at Colney Heath on Saturday.

New signing Luke Stanley netted a late consolation for a Boro side weakened by injuries.

Meanwhile, Jordan Disley put the reserves ahead in their clash with Hutton, who hit back two minutes from time to earn a 1-1 draw.

The second string host Ongar at Ford Newbury Park tonight (Tuesday), with a 7.15pm kick-off.
