Dagenham & Redbridge striker Michael Cheek has joined National League rivals Ebbsfleet United for an undisclosed fee.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Essex-based club in the summer from National League outfit Braintree Town, is moving on after just one season at Victoria Road.

Striker Cheek scored 13 league goals in 34 appearances last season and also netted 19 goals in 44 National League games for the Iron the season prior, but could not help them avoid relegation.

He spent two seasons at Braintree, having previously played for National League South club Chelmsford, and will now move to Fleet as they look to battle for promotion.

Cheek almost joined Daryl McMahon’s side back in February but the deal fell through and he stayed at Dagenham for the rest of the campaign.

The club statement said: “We would like to thank Michael for his services and wish him all the best for the future.”
