Dagenham & Redbridge were held to a 0-0 draw in their first pre-season fixture away to Bostik North outfit Heybridge Swifts.
Daggers manager Peter Taylor used the match as a chance to take a look at his new-look squad in a behind closed doors friendly.
The match had to be moved to a neutral venue due to a shower block at Swifts Scraley Road home, causing flooding which has made the ground unavailable to use.
Striker Michael Cheek and new signing Lamar Reynolds both got to face their former club in the clash while midfielder Tyrique Hyde returned to action after being sidelined for six months.
Hyde tweeted: “First 45 Minutes in the bank, after 6 months out, delighted to be back out there and lots of things to improve on.”
Fellow midfielder Matt Robinson also tweeted after the match: “Good first showing from the boys today although it was 0-0 played some lovely stuff.
“Onto the next one.”
