Essex club look to extend four-game unbeaten run on Saturday

Will Wright has warned Dagenham & Redbridge to be wary of the threat posed by Eastleigh, despite the Spitfires being in poor form in the Vanarama National League.

Daggers make the trip to the Silverlake Stadium on Saturday for their next league clash in a game that will be broadcast live by BT Sport, with kick-off at 12.35pm.

Peter Taylor’s men will fancy their chances against an Eastleigh side who have won just once in their last seven league matches.

But defender Wright, on loan from Sky Bet League Two side Colchester United, believes the Spitfires’ rotten run makes facing them a hazardous task.

“Teams who are out of form are always dangerous. One week, it could click for them and they give you something that you’re not ready for,” the 21-year-old told the club website.

“The game is on TV and it’s on their pitch, so we could come up against anything.

“We’ll prepare the best we can and hopefully come Saturday, we can get the three points.”

While Eastleigh have been in poor form of late, Daggers have seen results pick up in recent weeks after a sticky start to the season.

The Essex club are unbeaten in four matches, collecting eight points from a possible 12 over that spell.

Wright is pleased that the Victoria Road outfit seem to have turned a corner and feels they are finally getting the results to match their performances.

“I wouldn’t say we’ve improved in the way we’ve played in those games just because we won,” he added.

“We played well before that, but we’d rather have the points than not. Winning 1-0, we’re happy with that.”
