Dagenham & Redbridge boss Peter Taylor is taking the positives out of their latest defeat to Barnet on Bank Holiday Monday.

Daggers opened the scoring in the first minute through Elliott Romain before Wesley Foguck and Jack Barham cancelled out his goal to earn three points for the Bees at the Hive.

“We done some good things and there was a lot of positives but there is also negatives as the second goal was a poor goal.

“I thought Barnet done some good things at the end of the first-half and probably deserved an equaliser at that time but we actually had another couple of opportunities to get a couple goals.

“I’m quite staggered that we didn’t get one especially late on.”

The former Gillingham boss feels a lack of experience is costing them but insists it is not down to a lack of ability.

“It’s a lack of experience for people not being in the right areas, yes,” Taylor said.

“I think that is about the only positive thing I can say that it’s a lack of experience that is costing us, it’s not a lack of ability, as I still think we have a lot of ability and we need the players to keep their chins up.”

Taylor also revealed his side are desperate to pick up a win for the fans and that they just need to cut out the mistakes to do so.

“They’re desperate to get a result for everybody but we are making mistakes in bad areas that are creating opportunities for other teams.”

The manager did praise striker Elliott Romain after he netted his third of the season in the match against Barnet but believes Lamar Reynolds missed a golden opportunity to make it 2-0.

“It’s a good positive and I think unfortunately for us Lamar Reynolds had a chance just after that and it was one that we needed to be put away.

“It would have given us the type of space that we need at the minute but as I say I’ve got no complaints about the players work rate and they done some very good things but also defensively we done some poor things.”
