Wet weather has made pitch at Nethermoor Park waterlogged

Dagenham & Redbridge’s trip to Guiseley in the National League has been postponed for a second time.

The match had already been rearranged once because of the so-called ‘Beast from the East’ at the start of March, which left the Nethermoor Park pitch under several inches of snow.

The game was then due to be played on April 10, but the wet weather at the start of the week has seen the Lions’ pitch become waterlogged.

At the time of writing, no new date has been agreed, though it is believed the match will now take place on April 26 — two days before Daggers’ final game of the season at Macclesfield Town.

It is far from an ideal situation for all clubs involved, with the Essex side now having to end their season with two games in three days.

Chris Assombalonga and Oliver Hawkins netted for Daggers in a 2-0 win when they made the trip to Guiseley last season.
