If someone had told me after relegation last year that we would be second in the National League table having lost just once in our first five games while re-signing club legend Paul Benson, I wouldn’t have believed them! John Still has worked wonders in building a team capable of competing near the top of the table – so far anyway.
You cannot fault the players so far. The morale appears to be high compared to seasons past, and they look to be building a good rapport with the fans too, something which is also needed after the last couple of campaigns.
There has also been a great improvement in defence so far this season, with last weekend’s win at Woking making Daggers’ defensive record read: played five, conceded four, three clean sheets.
Daggers fans have two games to look forward to over the Bank Holiday weekend, starting at home to Wrexham in front of the BT Sport cameras at 12.15pm on Saturday. That’s followed by a trip across the capital on Monday to face recently-promoted Sutton United, whose crowds have been boosted by massively-reduced season ticket prices.
Hopefully two wins this week, come on you Daggers!
