Reynolds has faith Daggers can do well against high-flying Fylde

Essex club have performed well in previous games this term against teams near the top

Lamar Reynolds has backed Dagenham & Redbridge to give another strong performance against a Vanarama National League high-flyer when they host Fylde on Saturday.

After being without a game last weekend owing to their early exit from the FA Cup, Daggers return to action this Saturday when they entertain a Coasters side that currently sits sixth in the standings.

Already this season, the Essex club have taken points off of Salford City and Harrogate Town, who are third and fourth respectively, while they were beaten by just a single goal at seventh-placed Sutton United on their most recent outing.

And former Newport County midfielder Reynolds, who will hope to be back in the starting XI to face Fylde, believes the Victoria Road outfit can perform strongly against a team near the top once again this weekend.

“It’s going to be a difficult game, but like you’ve seen with a lot of scores recently in this league, anything can happen,” said the 23-year-old.

“With our squad now, building and getting stronger, I think we’ll be fine.”

Prior to hosting Fylde on Saturday, Daggers will have been without a competitive game for two weeks since losing at Sutton on November 3.

Manager Peter Taylor is sure to have used the time off to his team’s advantage as he strives to find a way to get the Essex club moving up the table, with Daggers currently languishing in the relegation zone.

And Reynolds believes having last Saturday off may prove to be a major benefit for the Victoria Road club in the long run.

“We didn’t have a game at the weekend, so it was a perfect time for us to get running on the training ground and try some new things,” added the Jamaican-born winger.

“Hopefully we can show that in the game against Fylde.”
