Coasters lost 2-0 at Victoria Road in March

Dagenham & Redbridge beat Fylde in the last Vanarama National League meeting between the sides in March – a result which Coasters boss Dave Challinor says his team will use as motivation ahead of Saturday’s game.

First-half goals from Chike Kandi and Mason Bloomfield saw Daggers, then managed by John Still, collect a 2-0 victory at Victoria Road last season.

Speaking after that game at the end of March, Challinor expressed his disappointment at Fylde’s performance against the Essex club.

And it seems that feeling has stuck with the Coasters manager, who wants his side to redeem themselves with a much-improved display against Daggers on Saturday.

“We had a poor performance there last season and in my eyes we have things to prove going back down there,” Challinor told the Fylde website.

Daggers, however, will hope to continue their unbeaten record against Fylde, having drawn at Mill Farm last September in the only other meeting between the sides.
