Club return from Chatham with perfect record

Romford’s Team Falcon kickboxing club conquered all before them at the prestigious Battle of Kent competition in Chatham.

Many of those who have competed at the competition in recent years have gone on to great success, including Falcon’s very own two-time world champion Liam Wells.

First up for the Romford club was current IKF English Open champion Lenie Rodgers, who displayed excellent footwork and ability to be declared the winner after three rounds.

Clubmate Daniel Burke was next into the ring for Falcon and the ever-consistent kickboxer showed his tremendous technical talent and wonderful work rate on his way to a comfortable three-round triumph.

Tyler Sharpe soon took to the ring and impressed all those in attendance with a polished performance to end his three-round contest as the winner.

Sophie West appeared nervous before her bout, but she needn’t have been as she dominated her opponent so much that the fight was actually stopped in the first round of action.

Emily Grain is normally a big performer for the Falcon club and showed it once again to emerge victorious from her bout.

There was surely some pressure on Daniel Stephens, the final Falcon fighter to step into the ring as the club sought to maintain a 100 per cent record.

And after a brutal fight in which both competitors were drenched with blood, Stephens was named the winner to give the Romford outfit an incredible six wins from six.

Falcons’ next event is on September 6, when Sarah Worsfold goes for the European title.
