Balls Deep were crowned winners of the Essex Squash Festival at David Lloyd Gidea Park at the weekend.

Six teams took part in the event, playing matches on both days, with Balls Deep beating Connaught’s Finest 13-12 in the final round.

Clifford Bennett beat Will Brand (5-1) and Antony Savage defeated Leki Lemzi (4-0), while Sarah-Jane Neller (2-4) lost to Sophie Lemom, Michael Aley went down against Gary Nisbet (1-3) and Josh Clarke was beaten by Jack Watson (1-4).

Balls Deep beat Redbridge Good Lookers (22-3), Stroke Balls (27-1) and Long & Hard (32-2) on Saturday, then saw off The Flying Jubo’s (33-2) before their win over Connaught’s Finest.
