Dagenham & Redbridge manager Daryl McMahon is eager for his side to put on a show as they welcome fans back for their final match of the season this weekend.
Daggers will welcome a limited capacity of fans back in at Victoria Road on Saturday when they face play-off chasing Wrexham in the National League.
The boss is keen to finish the season on a high and give the supporters something to be encouraged about ahead of next season.
“I can’t wait, I said to the players, results aside I think our performances from the middle of February until now have been excellent apart from the Aldershot game at home,” McMahon said.
“Everybody we’ve played, we’ve given them a good game, whether that’s win, lose or draw. We’ve played some good stuff and we’ve seen some of our young players develop.
“You’ve got people like George (Saunders) and Saidou (Khan) playing against Chesterfield with the biggest crowd they’ve ever played in front of, which is great for their development.
“Now in front of our fans, our families, I want us to put on a show so everyone can see where we want to go as a club and continue our development.”
Dagenham will be without Joey Jones who was sent off away to Chesterfield last weekend while they could also be missing the likes of Paul McCallum, Mauro Vilhete and Angelo Balanta.
“They both come off injured last against Halifax, they’re not badly injured and it was touch and go for them but we made the decision that it was too much of a risk to play them,” added McMahon on Vilhete and Balanta.
As for why McCallum was taken off at half-time at Chesterfield, he added: “Injured Achilles. It was a bit sore and stiff for him and he couldn’t really jump, so we had to take him off at half-time.”
George Saunders and Liam Gordon both impressed at Chesterfield and will most likely have the chance to do so once again.
“Delighted for George and delighted for Liam as well. I thought Liam had a good game all afternoon and he played really well against their right wing-back, particularly in the first half as he got in behind him four or five times," said McMahon.
“Whether he ran in behind him or went past him 1v1. Delighted to have Liam back as he’s obviously been off for a little while with his broken hand.
“It was a good performance from both of them.”
