Upminster ended up well beaten by promotion chasing Belhus on the final day of the Shepherd Neame Essex Leage Division One season.

Captain Ollie Peck put the visitors into bat after winning the toss, but saw opening batsmen Matt Doran and Joe Joyce hit centuries.

The pair put on 209 before Joyce finally fell for 104, offering a return catch to Shafiq Rahman.

Doran followed soon after, dismissed by Peck (2-68), who claimed another scalp as the visitors declared on 274-3 in the 40th over.

But Upminster lost Farid Butt without score in reply and saw Adam Quested and Kiran Kullar (23) follow after making starts as they slipped to 58-3.

Shahbaz Butt hit seven fours in his whirlwind 33 off 23 balls, with Alan Ison adding five fours in his 25 off 22 deliveries.

Nathan Woods (34) and Nabeel Aziz (24) also made starts, but Upminster were always up against it and finally dismissed for 168 in the 33rd over.
