Shenfield were relegated from the Shepherd Neame Essex League Premier Division after a final-day defeat against Chingford.

The visitors chosee to bat after winning the toss and their openers put on 91 before Aaron Beard produced a run out to dismiss Alex Agedah.

Mitchell Edwards (4-58) then made inroads, with Tom Ballington (2-20) and Charlie Haddon (3-39) also having success as Chingford were dismissed for 183 in the 49th over.

Edwards fell without scoring in reply, with Ollie Ekers (21) departing with the score on 58.

Jack Potticary and Alan Jones fell to successive balls to leave Shenfild 66-4, with Ballington, captain Jack Kliber, Jamie Walton and Tom Austin following in quick succession as Liam Lannen (7-46) wreaked havoc.

Jack Plom put on 62 with Beard, hitting two sixes and two fours in a cameo 28 off 19 balls.

But last man Haddon was run out without scoring to leave Beard stranded on 99 from 90 balls, having hit seven sixes and six fours as Shenfield were dismissed for 177 in the 33rd over.
