Both sides suffered disappointment on final day of league season

Rainham ended the T. Rippon Mid-Essex Premier Division season in disappointing fashion with a three-wicket defeat away to Aythorpe Roding.

Batting first, the Springs Park Farm stuttered through their innings and were all out for 161.

It was a fairly straightforward task for Aythorpe Roding in reply as they completed the chase in the 33rd over.

The defeat saw Rainham finish the season in fifth place, having won nine of their 18 league matches this term and taken 269 points.

In Division Two, Havering atte Bower also suffered defeat on the final day of the season as they lost by 146 runs at Ingatestone.

Havering bowled first at Ingatestone and dismissed their hosts for 269 in their innings.

However, a poor batting display from the visitors saw them all out for only 123 in reply.

The defeat means Havering end the season in seventh place, with seven wins from their 18 league games this term.
