Mid-Essex League club claim honours in debut campaign

Navestock Cricket Club were celebrating after being crowned Division Two champions at the Riverside Indoor League at Chelmsford this winter.

It was their debut campaign in the competition and they won 11 out of 12 matches played to finish top of the pile ahead of local rivals Upminster, who went on to lift the Junior Cup silverware.

Matt Richards captained Navestock to success and scored 173 runs in the process, while wicketkepper Tom Greaves added 168 runs and 12 dismissals.

Matt Simmons scored 161 runs and took 13 wickets, while Billy Greaves claimed 11 wickets.
